AANT has been named Peak Industry Body/Association Advocate of the Year at the 2026 NT Business Awards.
The award recognises an industry body or association that has demonstrated outstanding advocacy on behalf of its members within the Northern Territory, influencing positive change and contributing to meaningful outcomes for members and the broader community.
Since 1963, we’ve been proud to be the voice of our members and the Territory community. Whether it’s safer NT roads, fairer fuel prices or the transition to sustainable vehicles, we stand up for the issues that matter most to Territorians.
Advocating for Territorians
Road safety has been at the heart of AANT’s advocacy for more than 60 years. For six years, we’ve hosted Street Smart High, the Territory’s largest youth road safety education program, with more than 6,500 students taking part. Beyond the classroom, we’ve taken the conversation to the community: handing out flowers through Blooms for Blokes to raise awareness of men’s over-representation in road fatalities, installing five 5-metre elephants to spotlight the Fatal Five, and asking Territorians to name their riskiest roads through our annual Risky Roads Survey.
As more Territorians consider electric vehicles, our inaugural EV Test Drive Day booked out in under 24 hours, and we continue to advocate for investment in charging infrastructure along key NT routes.
Investing back in the Territory
Our commitment to Territorians extends well beyond the roadside. From our 10-year naming rights agreement for the AANT Centre to sponsoring iconic events like Bass in the Grass, the Darwin Supercars and the Darwin Comedy Festival, we’re proud to celebrate the Territory’s lifestyle and culture. We put local volunteers in the spotlight through our Volunteer of the Month program with NT Cricket and the St John Excellence NT Awards, and we’ve eased pressure at the bowser with an exclusive 8c per litre member discount at United Fuel sites, saving members more than $625,000.

A recognition of our people and our members
Being recognised for influencing positive change and delivering real outcomes for our members and the community means a great deal. It reflects the hard work of our team and the trust Territorians place in us. It’s a reminder of why we do what we do.
Thank you to our members, partners and the AANT team, and congratulations to all finalists and winners on the night.
