Shame on the fuel companies
The Automobile Association of the NT (AANT) CEO Anthony Hill says “the gap in the Northern Territory between the average wholesale and retail price has reached 37cpl, a level not seen since September 2014.
The average wholesale price has dropped 38cpl over the last 4 weeks and so there is no excuse for pump prices to be where they are today. Fuel retailers need to act now and reduce their prices.
The 24-hour average price according to MyFuelNT website for ULP91 is 128.8 in Darwin, 128.8 in Katherine and 144.9 in Alice Springs.
“These prices must come down, Territorians are doing it tough right now” he said. This is not a time for fuel retailers to be profiteering.
