The primary aim of the patrol is to get you going again after you breakdown, with over 90% of problems fixed at the roadside. If the problem is more serious and we can't get you going, we'll organise for your vehicle to be towed.*
Breakdown towing is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
If the AANT patrol or contractor determines that your vehicle can't be started at roadside, you are entitled to free towing up to set distances.
Standard AANT members are entitled to up to 8km in the metropolitan area and up to 32km in the country back to the nearest AANT depot.
Plus members receive extra towing benefits of up to 20km in the metropolitan area and up to 100km back to the nearest available AANT depot in country regions.
Premium members receive extra towing benefits of up to 50km in the metropolitan area and up to 200km back to the nearest available AANT depot in country regions.
Further towing beyond these distances will be charged at AANT member rates. You can select to have your car towed either to your home or your chosen repairer in the metropolitan area and back to the nearest available service depot in the country.
Alternatively if a tow is required in country areas. Plus members can choose to take advantage of a fringe towing benefit, and request a free tow of 20km, in any chosen direction from point of breakdown; or opt for up to 100km tow back to the nearest AANT depot and then a 20km free tow in any direction from the depot.
* Note that towing weight and size limitations apply.
