Territorians join forces to Demand Better Roads!

The peak motoring organisation in the Territory, the Automobile Association of the Northern Territory (AANT), has joined a national campaign to Demand Better Roads, saying there must be urgent investment to improve the quality and safety of the roads or more people will continue to die or be seriously injured.

Fuel price update

With fuel prices getting more focus in the media over the last few days, AANT has released a full page, annotated graph showing wholesale and retail price changes in the ULP market over the last 12 months. The graph clearly demonstrates that the local fuel industry is quick to increase the pump price when wholesale prices rise, yet fail to pass back savings to motorists when available. The use of ratchet pricing by retailers has seen the average margin between Terminal Gate Price and pump prices double over the last 2 years.
