The AANT's national body, the Australian Automotive Association (AAA), has developed keys2drive, a program designed to help Learner drivers get more real-world, on-road driving experience before going solo.
The keys2drive program also aims to provide parents/supervising drivers with a chance to brush up on their own skills and knowledge and give them more confidence in helping their Learner driver achieve experience in a range of traffic conditions.
On 1 May 2008 the Federal Government announced funding of $17m over five years for keys2drive. The program is now available in the Northern Territory for all Learner drivers.
