Keys2drive

The AANT's national body, the Australian Automotive Association (AAA), has developed keys2drive, a program designed to help Learner drivers get more real-world, on-road driving experience before going solo.

The keys2drive program also aims to provide parents/supervising drivers with a chance to brush up on their own skills and knowledge and give them more confidence in helping their Learner driver achieve experience in a range of traffic conditions.

On 1 May 2008 the Federal Government announced funding of $17m over five years for keys2drive. The program is now available in the Northern Territory for all Learner drivers.

Keys2 drive provides;

  • A free 45 minute driving lesson with a keys2drive accredited driving instructor for both you and your supervisor
  • A "train the trainer" approach to help supervisors better coach Learner drivers in how to drive safely.
